24 RTW Day 33-36 At Sea
Day 33, Saturday, April 6, 2024
We wake up to find we are still at the dock in Capetown. Winds are still strong and are blowing whitecaps at our ship in the harbor. So off to breakfast and then to meet friends for Morning Trivia. During Trivia, we feel movement and look out to see we are in motion. I go to my cabin and grab my camera and up onto deck 14 it is to get some photos!
We are, interestingly enough, being towed sideways by two tugboats until the ship lines up with the harbor exit. When we line up, the ships engines roar to life and we sail away out into the Atlantic Ocean, heading slightly Southwest towards our next destination. We are planned to be 4 days at sea, and are told the ship will make up the 12 hours lost due to the strong winds!

During the day, the winds are again strong and the seas are 6-8 Meters and I love it as they are my favorite seas! Enough motion to rock me to sleep at night but not enough to prevent me from walking the ship! Okay, we all look drunk as we walk the halls but that is the price you pay! The afternoon bowling game set up in a hallway was interesting to say the least and we all had a fun time!

Then it’s off to Ukulele Lessons even though we just had a concert on stage 2 days ago! We will have another in four weeks! Back to the room to dress for dinner!
Day 34, Sunday, April 7, 2024
Today is unremarkable except for the winds. We start the day with 5-6 Meter seas and by afternoon they are down to 3 Meters. This is promising as our next port will be a Tender Port and we won’t be able to board the Tenders in strong winds. We’re hoping the winds subside a bit more tomorrow and the next day! Throw in a food shot of dessert for good measure!

Toinight’s show was fun. Toons from around the world!
Good night All!
Day 35, Monday, April 8, 2024
Today is a normal ‘At Sea Day’. I spend time photographing the elevators as each one is different! It’s amazing how they aligned the images on the side walls and the back and even the floor to work perfectly with each other!
A show in the theatre that is fun to watch with a South African singer that is extremely talented. Then it is off to ‘Center Court’ to listen to ‘Isabella Eagle’, who happens to be not only one of the most beautiful performers on the ship, but one of the best voices we have heard!

To bed we go!
Day 36, Tuesday, April 9, 2024
Another Day At Sea and we are Painting, Playing Trivia, Playing cards, Playing silly throwing games, Ukulele Lessons, Taking Naps, etcetera! And then it’s to dinner with our Scottish (well almost) and Aussie Table Mates and all is good! We are improving on our understanding of the UK Dialects!

After dinner (which, in itself. is delicious!) we go to the nightly Trivia games to find out it is the ‘Human Jukebox’ where we all have a remote control and vote on bands and songs that we think are the best! Out of 5 choices, I get one, LOL.
Then we go into the theatre to watch a Comedian/Magician that is absolutely hilarious! A couple of Brits next to me apologize and tell us it is British humour. I look at them and acknowledge that I get it and tell them he was “Brilliant”, which is the same as saying in the States that he was ‘very good’!
Then it is off to the Purple Turtle for another musical trivia game that is less than inspiring. It is time to turn in so I will bid you all ‘Goodnight!’
Tomorrow will (hopefully) bring a fantastic adventure! Stay tuned!

I get a bit queasy just reading about the waves you are experiencing!
Those elevators are amazing! How fun to go around and get photos of each of them!
