Venice to Turkey 08
Day 08, At Sea, May 11
Today is a day At Sea and we sleep in a bit. We have breakfast in the main restaurant, Hudson’s, where we get waited on.
Then we walk around and get some of our steps in. At noon, we attend a welcome party for repeat travelers which we are. After we attend a Wine Tasting of Old World vs New World wines and find it interesting. There is also a fruit carving demonstration put on by the head chef and his crew.
We are on our own for the afternoon and we ride the ten story slide. The Drop is fast fun. The Rush is horrible and slow. I even stop 3 times, not of my doing and have to struggle to get started again in the middle of it. I finally come to a stop 10 feet from the exit and the tunnel is to tight to crawl out of. Whoever designed this slide should have his design privileges revoked!
Some other fun things like the glass walkway over the side of the ship keeps us busy. Many artist displays are on the ship. Then it’s dinner at Cagney’s Steakhouse where we have the best Ribeye and Prime Rib we’ve had in a long time!
A glass of wine and it’s off to bed.
